I'm Chris Mekvold. I write fiction, mostly fantasy and the cozier nooks next to it, and I run Keepwrite, a one-person imprint for the books and the tools behind them.

I care as much about how a book feels in the hand as how it reads, so every Keepwrite title gets both jobs done at the same desk: the writing and the design surrounding it, from the cover to the typesetting, in print and on a screen.

The workbooks started as the planning tools I needed for my own drafts. They became the Decide What to Keep series, one workbook for each genre, and Beyond the Draft, for the revision that comes after. The novels are what those tools were for. The first of them, a cozy fantasy, is in progress, which you can follow on my blog.

This is the home of that whole effort, shared as I go, with a Cavalier named Toby supervising from next to me on the couch.
