An experiment with his own passage through time has thrown Theo from modern Athens nearly twenty-five centuries into the past. He's the son of Time and Necessity, but even his divine parents cannot simply send him home.
An Athenian household takes him in before they know he's a god. They give him shelter, help him find work, and slowly become people he cannot imagine leaving. Then he meets Lysandra, an Argive widow, and finds his heart split between millennia.
Theo still longs for the future he left behind: his parents, his friends, and the life he made with his own hands. But the peace surrounding his new life is fragile, and his way back may not remain open forever.
Even the son of Time can lose his way home.
