Back at It
Hello Friends,
Back at it.
That was the theme of today, and it is something I have been dreading for the last week. The last 9 days have been grand. Waking up slow, taking a long walk with Toby, taking my time drinking coffee. And when all of that was done, settling into working on my computer and developing my books.
That part of my life is something I have been working toward for 2.5 decades. The calm that I feel while writing isn't something I experience any other time of my life.
When I first started building this business, I tried to write in a tone that I thought would be marketable. However, every time I let go and wrote how I wanted to write was when things actually seemed to go well.
After 6 months, I've finally settled in myself that I will write with the voice that brings me peace, not the one that I think will bring me views.
So, after over a week of being able to set my own schedule and focus on what I truly love, I'm back at my 8-5, typing away and responding to emails.
The people are great, the job matches the way my brain works suitably well, but I do find myself missing my books.
Maybe one day that can be my full-time job, but in the meantime, I will enjoy the moments in-between. Catching a moment here, a moment there. Letting the sound of the keyboard soothe my soul.
May the muses favor you,
Chris
